BEMA KidRise

Every year, at least two times a year, we raise funds and donate school supplies for children in underserved communities within our locale.

We strive to donate essential school supplies, including laundry detergent, socks, etc., for children in underserved communities like Acres Homes, Houston, Texas.

​

According to the 2016–2020 American Community Survey, 29.1% of households in the Acres Homes super neighborhood live below the federal poverty line. A City‑Data profile shows 26.1% of individuals in the area fall below the poverty threshold—significantly higher than the 19.5% citywide average for Houston. Depending on whether you're examining households or individuals, the poverty rate ranges between roughly 26–29%, compared to ~15.6% across Harris County.

In order to meet these needs, we partner with Houston wraparound specialists to understand what each school of children need, and with donors like yourself.

 

This Fall (2025), we aim to raise $9,000 for Mabel B. Wesley Elementary. ​We appreciate your donation of any amount.
